You hear a lot about how easy it is to make money with PLR rights but if you’ve ever tried it, you know it’s not as easy as everyone makes it out to be. Someone who is new to Internet marketing may not realize that making PLR sales takes a lot more than slapping up a web page and hoping for the best. In order to make a lot of PLR sales, you need to know how to promote your website too.
All right, so let’s assume you have put up a website with PLR ebooks and master resale rights products for sale. In order to do this, you purchased several private label ebooks to sell on the site. Perhaps you went through and edited or rewrote them, or maybe you’re just trying to sell them as-is. Either way, you have your website set up with PLR products and you’re waiting for the PLR sales to start rolling in. All you have to do now is get people to your website and convince them to buy.
The best way to promote a website selling private label rights or resell rights products is the same way you would go about getting traffic to any other site. Unfortunately, PLR products and PLR articles are often marketed to newbies who have no idea how to get traffic to their websites to make PLR sales. That’s OK, it’s just one more thing you need to learn.
There are two things that are extremely important when it comes to getting traffic: keywords and backlinks. Getting the right keywords into your website copy will help the search engines determine what your page is about.
Figuring out which keywords to target is a whole different article (or book!), but here’s a basic strategy for you. First, go to the Google Adwords Keyword Tool and type in what you think someone would type into the search engine if they were looking for the PLR products for sale on your site. Now click “Global Monthly Search Volume” to sort the results so that those with the most traffic are on top.
Next, type the top keyword on the list into the Google search engine and check the PR of the top four search results. You can use the Google PageRank Checker to do this. If any of the top four search results are higher than PR4, move on to the next keyword on your list that is relevant to the item you’re selling. Once you find the right keyword, edit your PLR sales page to make sure the keyword is included in your copy at least three times.
Now that your web page is optimized for the keyword you’re targeting, you’ll need to get backlinks — a lot of backlinks. This is even more important than getting the keyword right, so don’t skip this step. Getting a lot of backlinks will get your web pages moved up in the search engine results for the keywords you target.
The best way to get backlinks is to write a bunch of articles and submit them to article directories. You are usually allowed two links back to your site for each article you submit, so you should link to two different pages on your site if possible. The anchor text you use should be your main keyword about 50-60% of the time. For the rest of the links, use a variation of the keyword.
