There are some good reasons to purchase resale rights products. However, these products are not without their downside. Like anything, you need to look at both the pros and cons before deciding whether you want to sell ebooks with resale rights or other resale rights products.

Of course, the best thing about purchasing resale rights is that you have a ready-made product to sell. You don’t have to write or edit these products and they usually come with a well-written sales letter and complete sales website. This makes it very easy to purchase ebook resale rights and resell the ebooks on your own website.

Master resale rights sound even better than resale rights but that doesn’t always mean that they are. When you buy master resale rights, you have the right to resell the product but you also have the right to resell the resell rights. That means that the people who buy the product from you may become your competitors. This can be a big negative, especially if a lot of people end up competing to sell the same product.

Another disadvantage of resale rights products is the inability to edit them. Although you may not want to do a lot of editing anyhow, if you buy a resale rights product that is filled with grammar and spelling errors, you may be too embarrassed to sell it and then you are out the money you paid for the product.

This is where private label rights products outshine the competition. Since PLR products such as private label ebooks can be edited or even rewritten, you can go through and correct the errors before selling them.

Another reason the ability to edit PLR articles and ebooks is a plus is because you can repurpose them into completely different products. A collection of articles can be made into an ebook or you can add chapters to a PLR ebook to fill out the gaps and make it your own. This makes PLR sales potentially more profitable than resale rights sales because you now have your own product and are not trying to compete against people who are selling it on eBay for less than a dollar.

If you want to get started selling PLR and master resale rights products, take a look at Mega Pack IV from My Extreme Bargain. You get over 120 different products for just $19.97 and each product comes with either resell rights, master resale rights or private label rights.

  1. Leida Furr Says:

The problem with Private label rights material is that buyers really don’t make use of it appropriately. They need to either put it to use to get suggestions for subjects to write about or thoroughly re-write it or spin and rewrite it up and afterward set their own brand on it.
